I can vaguely remember that I watched some chapters of Thunderbirds when I was a child, but I haven't got a clear memory of them to judge the series. I mean, I haven't got many references to judge this adaptation so I'm gonna talk about what I've seen in the cinema. In this adaptation the heroes are the children, what it means that it's a movie addressed to the youngest people, with characters that are stereotypes and a plot that's rather clumsy. It's supposed to have some comedy touches, although I didn't found'em.What's more attractive about this version of "Thunderbirds" are the special effects and the digitally-made sequences. In short: the kids will probably enjoy watching' it...*My rate: 4/10

This was a fantastic chance to make a movie using fantastic special effects and make it about the action and the drama. What do we get? A spy kids clone, with children even more irritating than McCauly Culkin! Poorly written, implausible in the extreme and badly directed. A wasted opportunity. As a long time thunderbirds fan I waited 15 years for the technology to catch up and make an effective thunderbirds movie, but what a disappointment! If you don't care about plot, acting ability, plausibility and production values then watch this drivel. Otherwise, try something else and don't waste your money!

The only time this turkey should be served up is at about 3AM on the day after Thanksgiving or 3am on Boxing Day when everyone is sleeping off their dinners. The characters in this movie are more plastic than the puppets in the original series, despite the actors best efforts.Unfortunately Jonathan Frakes not only missed the boat on this one, he missed the whole fracking ocean! His purported quote about never directing should be quite true, but given the bean counters in charge of the movie industry these days, you never can tell. However he cannot be entirely blamed for this abomination. I had the impression that a bunch of blind, one armed chimps put together the script form the shredded rejects from The Spy Kids franchise.Avoid at all costs.
